When the railway arrived in Chamonix in 1903, Joseph Carrier opened the Chemin de Fer Guesthouse, which over time has evolved into one of the valley's most unique properties.
The classic Albert Premiére Hotel gained its' name from one of its' most famous return guests, the king of Belgium, a famous mountaineer in his own right. Gradually, the property around the hotel has grown and become a "hameau" or hamlet, resembling a typical Alpine country manor, shut off to the busy town, and quiet and relaxing.
With a Michelin-starred restaurant, pool & spa, and large, comfortable rooms, the Hameau Albert Premiére is the place to stay in Chamonix.
