DAVID MARCHI grew up in Mt. Shasta, CA where he was exposed to backcountry skiing and the big mountain environment at an early age. After years of ski racing to the NCAA level, and coaching for various teams including US Disabled Ski Team, he drew his focus to the more soulful attitude of exploration in the big mountain environment where he discovered his true passion.
He has been a ski mountaineering guide for the past 7 years. Internationally he has guided in Nepal, Indonesia, and India and is lead guide for Mountain Trip on Denali and a senior guide for Shasta Mountain Guides on Mt. Shasta. Combining his passion for skiing and international travel, he is constantly seeking new terrain hidden in remote locales all over the world. In 2005, he was part of an international team implementing avalanche and safety protocols for a new ski development in Kashmir, India. Most recently he traveled to Chile where he explored possible helicopter ski terrain in Patagonia.
With his AIARE Level 2 Avalanche certification, AMGA training and PSIA ski instruction, his clients take comfort in his ability to seek challenging yet manageable terrain delivering the adrenaline and euphoria that completes the skiing experience.
Providing guests with extraordinary, life-changing experiences is why David guides as a profession and with his three years of guiding in the Chugach, he is excited to join the CPG team have his guest live their dreams!
